Shardul Thakur joins Rising Pune Supergiant

Mumbai and Kings XI Punjab seamer Shardul Thakur has been acquired by the Rising Pune Supergiant for the tenth season of the IPL, which starts on April 5. This is Supergiant's second trade of the season, having signed opener Mayank Agarwal from Delhi Daredevils ahead of the auction in January.

Thakur's addition bolsters Supergiant's Indian seam bowling group, which includes Ashok Dinda, Deepak Chahar, Ishwar Pandey, Jaskaran Singh, Jaydev Unadkat, Rajat Bhatia and Rahul Tripathi.

Thakur was bought by Kings XI in 2014 for INR 20 lakhs. He played a solitary match for them in 2015, conceding 38 runs for a wicket in three overs against Delhi Daredevils in May 2015. In all, Thakur has played 18 T20s for 21 wickets at an economy rate of 7.81.

Supergiant will begin their campaign against Mumbai Indians in Pune on April 6.

    Good decision. Shardul Thakur is a good player and hopefully with his good run in domestic cricket, he will soon be given a place in the national team to prove his mettle at the international level.

    team : 1.Rahane 2.Mahank 3.smith 4.Duplesis 5. Dhoni 6.Stokes 7 Marsh 8 Aswin 9 Chahar 10 Dinda 11 Jaskaran/Pandey/Unadkat and the plan B should be replacing Marsh and Chahar with Zampa and Bhatia

    @Cricuser in that case your XI would be : 1.Mayank 2.Du Plessis 3.Khawaja 4.Smith 5.Dhoni 6.Stokes 7.Aparajith 8.Ashwin 9.Ankit 10.Dinda 11.Unadkat.. Have you seen Aparajith bowling a lot these days ? he may come in place of Rahane not as an all-rounder

    Not Rahane...in the poor form he is ... Smith is the captian...let Du plessis open and replace Rahane with Baba Aparjith who can bowl and Dan Chrisitian with Usman Khawaja.
