All-time IPL XI : The allrounders

ESPNcricinfo staff
Pick your two allrounders for our all-time IPL XI and help put together the team with our panel of experts

We are now into the third category of contenders for ESPNcricinfo's all-time IPL XI, after more than 19,000 votes were polled for shortlisting the batsmen. The seven batting nominees are AB de Villiers, Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma, David Miller and Yusuf Pathan.

So far, so good. We now move on to the allrounders. Our long list features ten of them, from which you can vote for one or two allrounders, depending on how you want to balance your side. All your votes* will then be used to create a shortlist from which our jury, which includes four former Test players (Sanjay Bangar, Aakash Chopra, Brad Hogg and Ajit Agarkar) and members of our staff, will pick the final XI. In keeping with the IPL's rules, the number of overseas players in the XI will be restricted to four. The best comments will be part of discussions on the all-time XI during our live shows and video analysis. Keep visiting our all-time IPL XI page for updates on the team selection.

for all-rounders- its a very tough job to choose two. But my pick will most definately be Shane Watson and Shakib Al Hassan. While Watson, despite being an enigma of sorts, has been extremely consistent with the bat and very effective with the ball. I cannot remember last time when he was thrashed all around the park. Has the ability to avoid thee middle of the bat and surprises people with his bouncer. Shakib is just the best all rounder (spin bowling) in the world. Only difficulty would be to find a suitable batting position which can justify his class. Good problem to have, though !

My XI- 1.Hayden ( Can't comprehend why he wasn't there in the list. Yes he is out for several years, but we are chosing IPL XI (10 years, so we shouldn't forget players that did excellently well in first few editions) 2. 3. V Kohli 4. AB Devilliers 5. Yuvraj Singh 6. Dwayne Bravo 7. MS Dhoni 8. Bhuvi Kumar 9. L Malinga 10. Y Chahal 11. L Malinga
